Early morning downpours in Baytown gave way to a cloudy but pleasant welcome
for guests at our Grand Opening and Dedication ceremonies on July 24, 2008
at 11 a.m. in the Great Room of the Bob Lanier Community Center. More than
100 people crowded into the Great Room to honor former Houston mayor Bob
Lanier and his family. Among the guests were Harris County Commissioner
Sylvia Garcia and Baytown District Four Councilman Terry Sain. A buffet lunch and tours of the property followed the official program, in which Councilman Sain read a mayoral proclamation making July 24, 2008, "Birdsong Place Villas Day" in Baytown.
